Extreme Red U14 Girls win 2007 Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament

Sac United’s U14 girls’ team, Extreme Red, traveled to San Diego over the Thanksgiving weekend to play in the Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament. In group play, Extreme scored 13 goals and gave up only 2 beating LAFC 6-2, Nomads 2-0 and the California Cougars 5-0. Moving onto the semifinal, Extreme played a very strong Arsenal team from Cal South and came away with a 1-0 win. In the Championship game, Extreme faced Utah’s La Roca Club who had yet to give up a goal in the tournament. Extreme’s Haley Hughes crossed the ball after beating her defender and Cami Crawford punched it in for the winning goal. Kayla Hodge scored a tournament high 6 goals, and Kelly Edwards made several crucial saves in an all around terrific team effort. Coaches Karen Hanks, Shawn Blakeman David Rubio and Nacho Damian were there to lead the girls to victory – Great Job Extreme!
