2006 SACRAMENTO UNITED SUNTAN CLASSIC
The Suntan Classic tournament will be held August 12 - 13,
2006 and Sac United volunteers are starting to kick it into
high gear with planning preparations. More age groups, more
teams, more hotels, more locations and more great
competition!
This is our 15th annual tournament for Girls and Boys U11 –
U19. Cherry Island Soccer Complex in Sacramento County will
be our main venue as well as tournament headquarters. We
will also be utilizing Granite Regional Park and Bill Conlin
Sports Park – both located within our city limits.
The Suntan Classic promises to be bigger and better than
ever this year! Last year we hosted over 128 teams and we
hope to make this year’s tournament even more competitive
and more fun. This year, for the first time, we have added
Boys U11 – U14, combining all age groups into this one big
event for our club.
We hope you take this opportunity to come and play in our
tournament, as well as visit and see all that Sacramento has
to offer! Come a day early and check it out.
Joining me in welcoming you is our Coaching Director Andrew
Ziemer and Training Director Shawn Blakeman, who have helped
lead Sacramento United Competitive Soccer in a new
direction, making us one of the top clubs in our area.
Guided by our Executive Board headed by President Tami
Cholger, as well as our awesome line up of coaches, you will
be hearing a lot more about Sacramento United and our ‘One
Club, One Love’ philosophy.
“One Club, One Love” is our motto – and our awesome group of
teams and parent volunteers are working together at several
venues to host a tournament that is well organized, friendly
and successful.
Talk about easy access to information! Our tournament
website will give you up to date information, scores during
the tournament and more. Our webmaster, ePaiges Design
Group, will keep the information flowing.
And yes, Sacramento gets hot in August, but our delta
