BUTTER BRAIDS AND COOKIE SALES

686-1555 Susan Pack @ bbwest@butterbraid.com

This Elk Grove based representative offers frozen Butter Braids - the best darn thing you'll ever try. Once people buy them, they ask for more. You sell them for $9, you earn a $4 profit. They come in 7 different varieties, you defrost, they rise and the product is so good people keep asking for more. Great to run during the holidays. They also offer frozen cookie dough, which is very tasty and folks love it. They also have available some hot-pocket type items.

TAMALES

There are several different locations you can purchase pre-made tamales for sale if you don’t have the time to make your own. This one I highly recommended: La Esperanza Bakery - 455-0215 - ask for Emma. - Tamales cost $9.50 a dozen, you sell them for $18.00. This is a very fast and easy way to make a profit. Please call ahead to verify availability. Have players pre-sell the tamales, making a nice flyer for them - you collect the orders- call them in - and pick them up and deliver - very simple.

SEES CANDY

Offers many different types of fundraising opportunities. Candy bars, Lollypops and all. Profit margin on all See’s products are great.

TEAM T SHIRT SPONSOR

Teams can have their own t-shirt sponsorship drive. For samples of such a drive, contact Vickie at sactovlr@hotmail.com for samples of my team's flyers. Basically, you sell sponsorships for $100 and their logos go on the back of the team t shirts. We like to get shirts made for the whole team and coach, who are not charged, and then take the remaining funds that were raised and split it with the number of sponsorship sold. The player who sells the sponsor gets about 87% profit, the girls all have team t-shirts - and you can even sell the shirts and sweatshirts to the parents and friends and make a small profit, as well. REMEMBER, WHATEVER YOU SELL CAN NOT FEATURE SAC UNITED OR THE LOGO. All Sac United wear is sold exclusively by the club. The Sac United logo, however can be a part of your team design.

Please utilize New Directions for you t-shirt orders - Ray Wise - 971-3939 or ray@screenprintit.com. They are a club sponsor and have worked with many or our teams, as well as the Club wear in year’s past.

EVENTS

Here are a few tried and true fundraisers that are simple, cost hardly any money up front, and the players can easily be involved. These events take a lot of coordination and work, but with a little elbow grease, you can easily net your team $1,000 or more. Sac United will list your team fundraising event on their website.

CAR WASH

Location, location is the key with this. Make sure you have a good location, and be sure to clear all car washes with the manager of the store/station you plan to have it at. Pre-selling tickets is the key to this one. Make up tickets for your players to sell, you can offer up incentives to the top seller (Jamba Juice card, or something like that). Check out the current schedule and information.

Give each player 10 tickets to sell. $5 is a good price range and easy to sell.

Have someone in charge of asking parents to bring hoses, buckets, sponges, car wash soap, hose splitters, sunscreen and have some good clean fun.

Another idea is to have a refreshment stand there - offering baked goods and sodas or lemonade. Also, a giant tips jar is always a good thing.

Have an easy up there with chairs for your customers near the cash stand, with the bake sale items right there and the tip jar. You will need a lot parental volunteers for this -- but it is also a great team building activity, as well.

Sac United has a special relationship with Mac’s Corner (Valero) on the corner of Broadway and Riverside. During the month of April - June, possible July you can arrange to have a car wash there. Call Russ at 501-2051 or email at RCunningham@DNLC.NET to schedule or go to the website.

YARD SALE

This is another location, location event. Find a parent to volunteer their driveway, that has a good location for a yard sale. Have families collect their junk (try to limit the amount of clothing), getting stuff from their families and friends and have them bring it to the location the night before - along with a team to help pre-set up the tables and price the treasures. This will make the task of getting it running at the crack of dawn easier. The players can make signs, flyers for the neighborhood -- they can tell their family, friends. Putting a small ad in the paper will guarantee you attendance. Ads in the garage sale section of the Bee run about $22.

You may also run a bake sale there with lemonade, as well. This is a great thing to have at the start of your season --- spring cleaning and the families get an opportunity to meet and work with each other. The players can work too, making the lemonade, waving signs. Our team has netted at least $1,000+ on event just like this.

Food Event

If you have a group of parents that are up for the challenge, a pasta feed is always a great event to put on. They key to this one is to get as much of the product donated as possible. Have families make pots of sauces --- and pre-pare boiled and oiled noodles in bag. Just dunk the noodles in boiling water to warm and they are ready to roll.

If a parent on your team has a connection with a church or school/preschool that has a small kitchen and are willing to let you have the event there, that is great.

Or if you have a family that specializes in Mexican food --- you can go with that theme. Again, make up fun tickets and the key to any event is to pre-sell the tickets to insure profit.

Food events can be a bit harder to put on and require a lot more organization

- so finding a chairperson is a must. You also have to find the proper venue - whether it be a church hall, or something of that nature.

I have tons of catalogs and information on other fundraisers --- from cookies to supplies --- just ask for them. Please contact me to add your event to our fundraiser calendar. Vickie - 444-1170
