3rd Annual Juggle-A-Thon

Dear Sac United Families,

Our 3rd Annual Juggle-A-Thon and Blood Drive for Luisito is here, and we are excited to bring our Sac United Family together once again for two special events built around soccer, giving back, and supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.

How Our Journey Began

Our journey began with one of our own — Luisito Gomez. On January 27, 2024, Luisito was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL Leukemia. During an incredibly difficult time for Luisito and his family, the Sac United community came together to show its support.

From that shared purpose, our Juggle-A-Thon and Blood Drive were born. What started as a way to support Luisito during his fight has grown into an annual Sac United tradition focused on raising childhood cancer awareness and turning our love of soccer into hope.

After countless treatments, hospital visits, and challenges, we are incredibly grateful to share that Luisito has completed treatment and is doing amazing!

Although Luisito’s treatment is over, the mission he inspired continues. Luisito wants to give other children the same hope and support he received by promoting blood donation, raising awareness for childhood cancer, and helping families who are still facing their own difficult journeys.

Juggle-A-Thon: Juggle and Give for a Purpose

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, Sac United is proud to host our 3rd Annual Juggle-A-Thon.

The Juggle-A-Thon will run from September 15–30, with Juggle Count Day on October 1.

Players will fundraise the Sac United way — by juggling a soccer ball. Families, friends, and supporters can participate by making either a per-juggle pledge or a flat donation.

Funds raised will help subsidize Sac United’s Financial Aid Program, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Mama Bears Fund for Childhood Cancer and the Sweet Dream Foundation, two nonprofit organizations selected by Luisito’s family for the instrumental support they provided throughout his treatment journey.

How You Can Help

There are several ways to support this year’s event:

  • Pledge per juggle: Donate an amount for each successful juggle your player completes.
  • Make a flat donation: Make a one-time donation that is not based on the player’s final juggle count.
  • Share your player’s fundraising page: Encourage friends, family, teammates, and coworkers to support your player.
  • Donate blood: Register to participate in the Blood Drive for Luisito on October 10.

This year, we are proud to have the following organizations supporting our players through prize donations:

Action-Lab AI

We are excited to welcome Action-Lab AI as a Juggle-A-Thon partner. Action-Lab AI has generously donated:

  • 1 Elite Membership — valued at $269
  • 2 Basic Memberships — valued at $149 each
  • Total prize donation value: $567

We will be recognizing and promoting Action-Lab AI throughout September as we highlight the organizations helping make this year’s event possible.

Le Five Indoor Soccer Facility

We are also grateful for the support of Le Five Indoor Soccer Facility, which has donated:

  • 1-Hour / 1-Field Rental Party Package — valued at $269
  • 1 Pick-Up Pass — valued at $15

These prizes will give our players additional opportunities to enjoy the game and continue developing their skills.

More Prizes and Recognition

Throughout the Juggle-A-Thon, we will recognize our top fundraisers and top jugglers. Players will have the opportunity to compete for prizes while helping us reach our $15,000 fundraising goal with last year raising $12,000.

Remember, players must have a minimum of $25 in donations to participate in Juggle Count Day on October 1.

The Juggle-A-Thon fundraising period runs September 15–30, with Juggle Count Day on October 1.

We are incredibly grateful to Action-Lab AI, Le Five, and all of our supporters for helping make this event possible.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Sac United tradition of giving back. We can’t wait to see how many juggles, and how much support. our players can generate this year.

More information on rules, fundraising, and Juggle Count Day will be shared throughout September.

Luisito’s story reminds us that the Sac United community is about more than what happens on the field. It is about coming together, supporting one another, and using the game we love to make a difference.

Let’s make our 3rd Annual Juggle-A-Thon our biggest and most impactful yet.

Luisito’s mission continues — for hope, awareness, and every child still fighting.

99Pledges Fundraising Platform (COMING SOON)

We will once again be using 99Pledges, the same fundraising platform we used last year, to collect donations.

Each player in the club will receive an email invitation to 99Pledges with instructions to accept their fundraising page and begin collecting donations. Families can then share their player’s fundraising page with friends, family, and supporters.

Donations can be made as either:

  • A flat donation
  • A per-juggle pledge, based on the player’s final juggle count on October 1

Throughout the fundraiser, we will share leaderboards recognizing our top individual fundraisers and the teams with the highest total donations.

Who will take the top spot this year? See the examples below to get an idea of what the leaderboards will look like.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Sac United tradition of giving back. We can’t wait to see how many juggles and how much support our players can generate this year. Stay tune for more info in the coming days!
