Sacramento, CA – In a continued effort to elevate Sacramento United’s standing on both the national and international stage, the club is proud to announce the appointment of Juan C. Fresquez as its new Technical Director of Elite Programs.

With over 30 years of coaching experience at the highest levels of youth soccer, Coach Fresquez will lead Sacramento United’s Performance Phase (U15-U19), overseeing key programs including UPSL, MLS Next, Girls Academy (GA), National Premier League (NPL), and MLS Tier 2 teams. His appointment underscores the club’s commitment to providing an elite player development pathway.
Fresquez brings a wealth of experience from top youth academies and professional clubs. His coaching journey includes time with Real Salt Lake’s Development Academy, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), and Real Salt Lake Arizona’s MLS Next Academy, where he played a key role in developing top-tier talent. Most recently, he served as Club Director at Merced United while also contributing to the UC Merced men’s soccer program. Additionally, he has experience on the international stage, having worked with the Puerto Rican U20 Women’s National Team during Concacaf qualifiers.

Coach Fresquez will be joined in Sacramento by his wife, Yessie, and their four children, JuanCa, Christian, Diego, and Sarai.
